I have limited information David Blackand Margaret ClydeDavid B Married Magaret on Dec.4, 1868 in Cumbernauld. Dumbarton,Scotland. MargaretClyde was the daughter of Samuel Clyde born1828in Scotland and diedJune 28, 1882 in CumberlandDumbarton, Scotland and Margaret McGhee who married Samuel in Dec 1849 in New Monkland Lanark,ScotlandSamuel Clydes Parents were John Clyde and Margaret McMurdie..I believe that David Blacks parents were...David Black,born 1825 in New Monkland Lanark Scotland an Elisabeth Brown who married David July184l in New Monkland Lanark Scotland.it is also my feeling that both David Black Sr. and Samuel Clyde migrated from Lanark Scotland to Dumbarton Scotland where David Jr. and Margaret were married and raised their family Records show that David and Margaret had five children. Elisabeth, Margaret,Joseph.Samuel,and Martha.David Black Jr. had the following siblingsJames born 1851 Robert born 31 Dec 1843Agnes born5, Sept. 1847 Gavin born3, May 1858 Andrew!
born 29 March 1863 and Elisabeth born 14, April 1856. Proving that this David Black Jr. is the son of David Black and Elizabeth Brown Probably can only be accomplished through written records founf in Lanark, Scotland

My Great Grandfather Was David Black and My Great Grandmother Was Margaret Clyde My Grand Father was Joseph Black one of 5 children others were Margaret, Samuel, Mary, Ellen All children were born in Cumberland except Samuel he was born in Kilsyth,Scotland just a mile or so from Cumbernauld. The family lived in Cumbernauld in 1891 according to the censu REF# 495- Book 5 -Page27.

My Grandfather (Joseph Black ) married a Kilsyth girl by the name of Janet Shields They had lots of children(They were married in 1890 in Kilsyth Stirlingshire. Children were David ,Joseph. John. William ,Netta Samuel MargaretJean ,Walter and Netta died in infancy My Grandmother died youg age 44 years .It` no wonder all that child bearing My mother was one of the siblings )Jean) she married Alexander Johnstone of Twechar, Scotland I was born in Kilsyth I I am pushing 79 years now and I am collecting family history for my children, Grandchildre and great Grans.
