Julia,

I have a little information on your Caroline Ann Black (christening 13 July 1847 in Anstey, Leicester, England) who married William Palmer (b. ~1845 in Leicester, England) on 16 July 1865 at All Saints, Leicester, Leicester, England. I have a LDS record of William and Caroline having one child, i.e., Mary Ann Palmer (b. 12 November 1876 and d. 13 Mar 1943 and married George Salsbury on 26 December 1897). William Black (b. ~1815 in Leicester, England) and Jane Richards (also b. ~1815 in Leicester) were indeed the parents of Caroline. William and Jane also had other children born and christened in Anstey, i.e., Eliza (c. 2 February 1842), William (c. 3 September 1844), Thomas (c. 12 April 1847), George (c. 14 July 1850) and Moch (c. 16 April 1854). It is likely that Thomas Black and Ann (unknown maiden name) were the parents of William Black but I have no solid documentation to support this as fact. The LDS records probably could take this Black lineage back easily into t!
he 1600s but there appears to be a couple of generations missing that are needed to put the total picture together. The 1881 Census shows William and Jane living at 3 Near The Green, Anstey, Leicester, England and shows William as being a frame work knitter. Doubt if this helps much but this is all that I have at this time.
