That is the question. I don't know where William was from in Pennsylvania. My dad always said we were Scots-Irish, so I will start to investigate the Scots Irish who came to Pennsylvania and maybe I can find him. Also, FamilySearch shows Fanny Carter to be from Franklin, PA, so I thought that might be a clue for William.
Also, according to a book written on the Camby family, as William married Ann Camby, the book says that around 1845 William and Ann were going to Iowa, but William died outside Keokuk, Iowa, and then I find Ann a widow with her children in 1850 in Clark County Missouri, which if you look on a map, is right next to Keokuk. George and Hannah Phillips had moved to Benton Iowa, so I thought maybe they were going out there to him. It seems to me though, that Ann left with all the children, would have kept on going to George in Iowa, if that where she and William had originally meant to go. So, lots to figure out. But thanks for your reply, hopefully one of us will find something.
