Franklin Lemuel Black was a younger brother of my great-grandfather, Samuel Porter Black (b. 29 Apr 1863). Frank had seven brothers! I have some information on all of the brothers, 2 of whom moved to WV and 3 moved to TX. All worked in the oil business at one point in their lives.

Frank was born in Clarion Co., PA, the son of William F. and Lucinda (McKissick) Black. The 8 sons in birth order: George M., John Henry, Samuel Porter, David Harrison, Franklin Lemuel, Marion Lauren, Edward Richard, and William Albert.
