OBITUARY : WILLIAM BLACK


William K. ( Blackie ) Black, age 72, of East Canton, Ohio, died peacefully Tuesday afternoon in his home surrounded by his family.

He was born December 12, 1930 in Akron, Ohio and had resided in Canton most of his life. Bill served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Following his honorable discharge, he joined the U.S. Marine Corp. He was formerly employed as a truck driver for various companies in the Canton area.

Bill is survived by his wife, Carol ( Tomkin ) Black to whom he was married for 39 years ; his daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Scott Adams Sr. of East Canton ; his best friends, his grandsons, Scott Adams Jr. , Stefan Adams and Seth Adams whom he dearly loved.

Funeral services with military honors will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio.

Reed Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
