Deep in an old trunk I discovered a yellowed, aged letter that might be of interest to those researching Melvina Louisa BLACK.
It is from my Great Aunt Lula DICKENS to my mother Nina Louise CAMPBELL HIGDON-- written in her spidery handwriting she states:
'Uncle Robert COLE reared Mama and Uncle Bob BLACK'.
(By her Mama she means Melvina Louisa BLACK)
I know this will pose more questions than answer them, still I thought it was important.
