I have been looking for over 2 years for information about John Black (my g-g-g-grandfather) born in 1806 in Butler, PA married Sussanna Catherina (or Catherine) Keener in 1828. I have posted this information before and do so again in hopes that someone out there can help me.

John and Catherine had one son named Solomon Black born in Armstrong twp, Indiana Co, PA on Dec 9 1830. Solomon, a blacksmith, married Mary Ann Russell on March 7, 1854. They went on to have 8 children, Solomon also served in the Civil War. On July 12, 1912 Solomon died and he is buried in Oakland Cemetery in Indiana Co, PA. I have lots of information on Solomon and his descendants but I know virtually nothing about his father John. I do know that John was a farmer and that John's wife Catherine remaried to a Moses Wilhelm presumably after John's death. She married Moses some time around 1835. Any information that anyone has on my John Black or suggestions on how to get beyond this brick wall would be greatly appreciated . I do not know of any sibblings if he had any, nor can I find any mention of anyone that might be his parents. Please help!
