I have a wonderful old family portrait (Cabinet Portrait) taken in just about 1878 - of the Black family, that I would like to get back to descendants or family members. The photo is of "Uncle Bill" and "Aunt Net" Black (both about in their 20s) with "Minnie" (looks to be about 6 mo.), "Alice" (about ae 7), and "Elmer" (about 4). Also on the back is written "Net is the sister of Grandma Hooker". The picture is in very good condition except that it has been cracked across the area where Minnie's face is showing. I assume this could be restored by a photo company. The photo was taken in Reedsburg, Sauk Co., WI.

I have found the family in the 1880 census for Honey Creek, Sauk Co., WI, as follows: Wm. H., age 33, born IL; Jannett Black, age 23, born NY; and Minnie, age 2, born WI. What bewilders me is where Alice and Elmer were during the census, for they aren't listed even tho they were older than Minnie.

Please email me at .
