Clark Newell Black died at the Kanabec Hospital on Jan. 22, 1982 at the age of 75 years, after an illness of about five years. He was born in Grisvold, Iowa on Sept. 29, 1906 to Charles and Emma Black. He lived in Grisvold until 1922 when he moved with his parents to Ogilvie. He was united in marriage to Eda Averill on Jan. 7, 1928. They moved back to Iowa in 1930 for seven years, returning to Ogilvie in 1937. He farmed most of his life and also worked in the Ogilvie Creamery for a few years. In Iowa he worked in a country store and trucked cattle and coal. He was a school bus driver for 20 years, a township fir warden for 36 years and served as supervisor on the town board for a number of years. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Fred. He had four sons. Funeral services was at the Ogilvie Methodist Church on Jan. 26. Burial was at Oakwood Cemetery in Mora, Minnesota
