Hi Gail,
I am doing some research on my Grandmother Mary Elizabeth Alcorn and think we may have a link. Mary's parents were John H. Alcorn and Elizabeth Carmack. Elizabeth's parent's were Jesse (Ann?) Carmack and Margarett (unknown) Black???. Jesse's was the son of John(Jesse?) C. Carmack and Mary Dougherty.
Elizabeth's was born abt. 1834 in TN. and died in 1909 Burleson Co., Tx. her syblings were
Margarett Carmack abt. 1840
Mary Carmack abt. 1841
Martha J. Carmack abt. 1842
Tennessee Carmack abt. 1846
Do you recognize any of the above names. Have found quite abit of info over internet. Mostly comes from the Carmack Connection website. I also was wondering if you know anything about a Cherokee or indian connection. I have always heard stories. My mother told me that my grandmother swore that she had indian blood, but I have not be able to find any evidence. Would appreciate any info you could share.
best regards(: Debbie
