I have been researching in an indirect way a Duncan Black and Christian McRae Black (I am waiting on some information to be mailed to me about them). I am a descendent of the brother of the Christian McRae Black's Grandfather.

I have been in touch with a woman in Harnett County, NC, who is a direct descendent of this Duncan Black. She has a lot of information on the Black family. Let me know if you are interested.

P. S. She says that the parents of Duncan Black were William Black and Catherine Ray Black. (ca. 1736-1806). They were born in Scotland, arrived 1754 on Baliol of Jura's brig-Campbelton, Kintyre-Wilmington run. They married in NC; settled on Upper Little River n'r Clark's Bridge (now Harnett County but was formerly Cumberland County).
