Hello Kimbal. I'm researching the same John Black. My g grandfather was Marion T. Black, a son of John & Susan Black. I found John & Susan on the 1850 census with 2 children and Rebecca Huckaby living with them, it listed her age as 66 yrs. John was listed at 25 and Susan at 18. I also found them on the 1860 census with all their children. After 1860 I was unable to find them on any census. I did find their son, Govan on the 1880 census living in Union Co. SC, with his wife and 3 children and 2 of his brothers, George Silvan and Bridge Black. I also found one other son on the 1920 Arkansas census, his name was Franklin E.. He married Rosetta Garner in Yell county AR. in 1884. I have a wealth of information on all of Marion T. Black's children. Marion T., married Octavia Garner 12 Jan. 1883 in Yell Co. AR. I will be happy to share this information with you or anyone researching this limb of the Black family tree. Regards, Joe Black
