I am researching a Jeremiah ( James) Billings Black from
Cleveland OH & bounced back & forth to Erie,Erie PA. Well in
Ancesters.Com, I found a reference to a widow of James B. Black that
applied for a Civil War pension from Massachusetts in 1898 by the name
of Walburga Black ! Small world !!! That James was in 197th OH Inf. The
James I am looking for was also in an OH unit, but not sure same.
Jeremiah BLACK married into my CROSS family.

SCHNEBERGER posted by Audrey Nitz on Saturday, March 18, 2000
Apparently George Schneberger came to Elk co. about 1842.
It doesn't appear that he was married at that time. The family says his
wife's name was Walburga. In the early 1850's I find him with a wifeby
the name of Margaret or Margaretha. At the same time he buys land and is
naturalized a man I presume is his son Joseph Schneberger is also
naturalized. Later a man Micheal Schneberger is naturalized and later
has a daughter whom he names Walburga. George has two sons named
George. In 1856 he is living in Winneshiek Co. Iowa where my grandmother
( his granddaughter) was born. Does anyone else fit into these families?
