Since my original posting I have learned that the name I was looking for was Bilsby rather than Belsey. At least that is what was on a marriage document for my gg-grandfather. He married Nancy Ann Bilsby in May 1847. I still need to get to Knox Co. Ohio to try to confirm this in person, but as of now it looks like Belsey is not a family name.
