I thought this may be of interest to someone.
Was looking through the Napier old cemetry in the New Year and found the following:

BLACK John
b. County Kincardine, Scotland
d. January 25th 1892 aged 44years
at the bottom of the headstone were the following words
DOWDALL P.N.
(many of the headstones were damaged in the 1933 Napier earthquake but this was quite clearly written)
