STURBRIDGE- William Black Sr., 72, of Cedar Street, died Thursday, Dec. 26, at home after a long illness.
He leaves his wife of 49 years, Aldea (Peloquin) Black; two sons, William Black Jr. of Auburn and Guy Black of Hollywood, Fla.; two daughters, Nancy Ellen Gingras of Union, Conn., and Tammy A. Breault of West Thompson; and three grandchildren. He was born in West Chester, Pa., son of Charles W. and Alice (MacGay) Black. He attended schools in Coatsville, Pa., and also attended Cole Trade High School, Southbridge. He was a Navy veteran, serving aboard the carrier USS Cabot.
Mr. Black retired from the former Warner and Swasey Co., Worcester. He was a member of the Southbridge Elks and the Southbridge Eagles. He enjoyed woodworking.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St., Southbridge, is directing arrangements.
