hello,
i have a white 5x great grandfather named john james black (born 1780 died 1781) married to ruth ? (no dates). i don't know if he or his parents were born in ireland. he may have been either catholic or protestant. i am neither, since i am native american; we don't have formal churches. john james died on 24 aug 1781 fighting my shawnee ancestors. his son david black (born 1779, died 1854) is my 4x great grandfather on the white side of the family.
i would like to trace the black's to ireland to see if i have white relatives there. any help would be greatly appreciated.
