My grandfather was also John Anderson Black and a brother to your
great-grandfather, James Alexander (Eck) Black. Lavilla Owens and I began
researching this family in 1960 and have put our research into book form.
The book is not being published, but I am trying to get it into libraries in
the appropriate areas.

There is a copy in the McLennan County Public Library, Waco, TX; The
Freestone County Museum and the Genealogical Research Room, Fairfield, TX.
I hope to soon have a copy in the Burlington Rock Island Railroad Museum,
Teague, TX; the Kurth Library, Lufkin, TX and would like to place one in
Alto and Jacksonville, as well as other places where a large consentration
of the family was located.

Lavillla is no longer able to continue with this and I am also becoming
older, but we wanted our research to be available to those who want it;
perhaps they can tie into it and progress forward, or, hopefuly, backward.
