Subject: [BLACK-L] Moses Black and Katherine Dye in Pulaski County, Kentucky
Date: Mon, 23 Sep 2002 20:25:42 EDT
Hi! I have done some research on Moses Black, Senior (1781 - 10 Oct. 1864)
and his wife Katherine Dye (1788 - 1872). Moses Black, Sr., Katherine Dye on
29 April 1812 in Pulaski County, Kentucky. They had 11 children, in order,
William Dye, Polly Jane, Moses Junior, Lindsey, Joseph, Christina, Calvin,
Sally, Elizabeth, Shadrick Marion, and Patience C. Please refer to the
following publication:
Ragle, Harold E.
1969 The Blacks of Casey and Pulaski Counties, Kentucky, and of Kansas. The
Casey County News, Liberty, Kentucky.
Moses Black Senior was born in county unknown, Virginia, to Jain and John
Black (died 1830). Katherine Dye was born in Halifax County, Virginia to Mr.
and Mrs. William Dye. I have been given four different first names for
William Dye's wife, the daughter of James Randolph. I have had several
suggestions as to Jain Black's maiden name.
Moses Black, Junior, 1821 - 1868, is my wife Karen line. They migrated to
Linn County, Kansas, in a wagon train from Kentucky in 1868.
Are you interested in this family?
Thank you,
Doc
