John Black (my g-g-g-grandfather) born in 1806 in Butler, PA married Sussanna Catherina (or Catherine) Keener in 1828. They had one son named Solomon Black born in Armstrong twp, Indiana Co, PA on Dec 9 1830. Solomon, a blacksmith, married Mary Ann Russell on March 7, 1854. They went on to have 8 children, Solomon also served in the Civil War. On July 12, 1912 Solomon died and he is buried in Oakland Cemetery in Indiana Co, PA. I have lots of information on Solomon and his descendants but I know virtually nothing about his father John. I have been trying to get beyond this brick wall for about 2 years. I do know that John was a farmer and that John's wife Catherine remaried to a Moses Wilhelm presumably after John's death. She married Moses some time around 1835. Any information that anyone has on my John Black would be greatly appreciated. I do not know of any sibblings if he had any, nor can I find any mention of anyone that might be his parents. Please help!
