Hi,
I am looking for the parents of George Black b. 1796 in VA died Jan.1867
Sumner co. TN. He married Eliza Anderson. I have a book that someone wrote
called the Good old days the Jackson and Black families. I was given to me
by my grandmother. And in it, it says that George's parents were John Black
and Mary (unknown). Mary was suppose to marry Jesse Rippy. John Black's
father and mother was Samuel Black and Catherine Shaw. Now this is were I
dont know for sure if it is all true cause it says that Samuel's father was
George Black and that he came to america in 1718 with his sons Samuel,
William and Josiah. Josiah moved to Kittery and William settled in York.
Samuel south to Albermarle County, Va. and his life work preaching the
gospel.
I have found places in the internet that says Samuels father was James
Black. Could someone please tell me if my book is right or is James really
Samuels father and there be another Samuel Black in Albermarle County, Va
that is my samuel.
Thanks so much,
Tammy Miller
