I have a hunch that your g-grandpa Jesse may be the brother of my g-grandma Laura Nevada Black, b. in Jackson Co, IA to Jesse & Mary Ellen Thompson Black-who moved to Hamilton Co, IA. Jesse & Mary Ellen are buried in umarked graves at the Cass Cemetery north of Webster City, IA. My g-grandma Laura married Jesse Segar (who's parents were from near Blairsburg, IA, Horace & Ortensia Segar). I have never been able to find out much info on the Black Family either. When I was in a high school musical at Clarion H.S., I played opposite a Jerry Black. My Dad said he was a distant cousin. Of course, at age 15-I wasn't too curious about genealogy at the time. Hope to hear from you. I really feel they are related!
