I have a John Black in my family line too, but there is no way of knowing if there is any connection to your John Black without a little more information. Place and date of birth, place and date of death, spouse's given name and maiden name, any children they might have had would all help in tracking down information on your John Black.

I too am looking for information on a John Black. My John Black was born in Butler, PA in 1806. He married Sussanna Catherina (Catherine) Keener in 1828. They had one son Solomon Black on Dec 9, 1830 in Armstrong, Indiana County, PA. John died sometime around 1835 or 1836 but I have not found any record of his death date. John's wife Catherine re-married after John's death to a Wilhelm Moses around 1836. She died in 1879.

I know a lot about John's son Solomon and his descendants but I have been able to find virtually nothing on my g-g-g grandfather, John Black of Butler, PA. He is my "brick wall." I have found no mention of his parents or any siblings. Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated.
