Isaac Black born about 1838 (perhaps from Maine) married Ada West (from Ada Ohio) born about 1837. ( I find Isaac Black, if mine at Tulare Calif in 1870 age 42, as Isaac S Black (S = middle name; or his mother's maiden name; or ?).
Isaac and Ada West Black had several children: Hattie, Charles, *Franklin, another...Franklin Elsworth Black married Margaret Amelia Curran and had one child, my grampa, Clinton Elsworth Black born Ohio 1886 and died San Diego Calif in 1973 who married Ophelia May Robacker born 1892 Upper Sandusky OH. They went with Ophelia's parents, Samuel and Mattie Angst (1868-1940) to Oregon, where Sam homesteaded and Clint and Ophelia had 3 children (one being my mom). Ophelia got sick (per her death cert which I recently got from OR archives) and died age 26 in Oregon City OR leaving 3 children and a widow, my grampa, who sailed the Yankee Doodle lumbership down the Pacific to Ocean Beach Calif where he raised his children with his parents until he remarried in 1929 a Nana Bresler. My mom married my dad from NY as a young Marine in war time.
There is a website where you can pursue the land patentees (those who went west); I will locate and post or send to you, your person may be there; I have seen the name as I surf. Thanks for responding and stay in touch - we may be long distant kin! God Bless!
