Beatrice E. Black, GILFORD

GILFORD-Beatrice E. Black, 85, of 71 Annis Dr. died Friday, following a period of declining health at Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia. Black was born in Dover, the daughter of William and Blanche (Davis) Hayes. She lived in Alton for a number of years before moving to Gilford a year ago. Survivors include a son, William M. Black of Canada; four daughters, Sandra Black Sommers and Joanne Black Christen, both of California, Maureen Black Smith of Alton and Deborah Black McClintock of Gilford; six grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Her husband, Ernest Thayer Black, and two brothers died previously. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia. The Whipple Avenue entrance should be used. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at noon, following the calling hours. Burial will follow in the Brooklawn Cemetery in Portland, Maine. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made t!
o the Lakes Region General Hospital, 80 Highland St., Laconia 03246.

Note: I am of no relation, but my sympathies go out to those of you who are. This is here as a lasting memorial for Mrs. Black.
