Info received thru Timothy Turner Says:

John Thomas Black-son of Skip Richardson Black & Mary Brown

Born 3 March 1803 Virginia-d 29 Jan 2889 Upson County, GA.,

John Thomas is the eldest son of Skip Richard & Mary Brown Black and this family moved to NC and later to near Eatonton. 1823, while in Putnam Cty., Thomas married Faitha (Taitty) Meadows. They moved to Upson Cty and settled at The Rock and reared 9 children. JamesRichardson,Caswell,William,Sidney,Permelia,John,Nathanial, Cary & Susan. Thomas was 94yrs at time of death. He was a tax collector and a Judge of the Inferior Court. At time of marriage Thomas gave each of his children a plantation in Upson County,. Some are still owned by descendents. 3 of his sons served in the Civil War, Nathaniel-was killed at Jackson Miss. in 1863-and he is 2nd husband of Elizabeth Derrick Black. Two other sons, William & Cary also served. son James R managed a Confederate shoe factory.

The other son "Caswell Marion Black" married Elizabeth Derrick of Henry County and was 1/2 owner in the largest Mercantile store in Henry County at time of death 1856.
This is from "History of Henry County". This is my connection to the Black family. After Caswell died Elizabeth married his brother Nathaniel. They had one child as in the 1860 census she is living in the house of her father with a 1yr old child. It had to belong to Nathaniel as Caswell died 4 yrs previous. I am in search of this child if possible.
