Search the listings of Confederate Soldiers in Ala. There should be books in the local library of these. You might even try GA. Contact a Sons of Confederat Veterans organization near where you live or try them even on line as to find out a unit near you. If you live in the South.

These books will give you when, where, if he was wounded and etc. There is also a pension book on the Confederated Soldiers.
