Thanks so much for the information. I know that my Black's migrated from
Buncombe Co., NC between 1830-1839 to TN. That's a good lead and more
than I had before. It's possible they are connected.

Hi Patti,
I don't know if this is the same place or just fiction but the best
selling novel, "Cold Mountain", mentions a Black family who lived in
North Carolina and then removed to Texas right before or during the
Civil War. I wonder if Cold Mountain is based on Black Mountain?
