Hi Everyone,
My brickwall is my gr gr grandfather known by tombstone of wife as
Edward W.BLACK, however known by neighbors he had as Elisha W.Black
Here is all I know about the man
He was born around 1820 some say in Tenn.
Married Martha Coonrod in Jasper Co Mo in 1840s
and moved( with his in laws Woolery & Jane Coonrod) her and 3 of their
children Byron,Patsy, and Elvira to what is now Crawford Co Ks in 1856
There they had a son Elisha B.(my gr grandfather)in 1857.
Edward/Elisha died in a fire in 1860.Byron died around this time as
well. The two girls lived and married HIGHTOWER and CONDITT .Mrs.Conditt
is buried at Liberal Mo and Mrs Hightower died in Tx.Can't remember
which married who at the moment.
Anyhow is there anyone on the list that may have a missing BLACK that
these dates might match. Grandpa Black always believed that his
grandfather had ran out on the family. I have proved otherwise on that
Thank you so much in advance
Carol Black Brooks
would love to share information with the family. Starting to wonder if
his name was BLACK at all LOL
