? Was Reuben German or Jewish descent. I ask because my grandmother Gussie Lee Black in Cherryville, NC use to tell us that her dad William L.P. Black b:1878 family had been jewish. The only reference I have found to any Blacks being anything but Scotch-Irish or English was Black being changed from Schwartz in Germany to Black when they came to the US. What do you know about this if anything???
