I have just recently signed up for this list. I hope someone out there
might be able to assist me. I am hitting a brick wall with my great,
great grandmother, Jane Black. She was born about 1814 in Virginia,
according to census records. I know she was alive in 1880 in Illinois,
because she signed some pension paperwork, but I cant seem to find any
death records. She and her husband, Bailey Myers, were the first couple
to be married in Long Creek, Macon Co., IL, July 10, 1835. I have no
other information on her siblings or parents. I have information on her
spouses family and on her children.
I do, however, have some possibilities, but no proof. I have some people
I believe to be her brothers and sisters, but I cannot find anything
that ties them together, possibly because I dont have a father or
mother for her. Anyway, here are her possible brothers and sisters:
1.Abraham Black born about February 10, 1810 in VA, died May 21,
1852 in IL. Married Eleanor Davidson October 24, 1833 in Macon Co., IL.
2.Jacob Black born about May 13, 1802 in VA. Married 1st Eleanor
Wallace June 16, 1823, Sangamon Co., IL 2nd Eleanor Florey November 12,
1835, Macon Co. and 3rd Lucinda Smith February 12, 1841, Macon Co. IL.
3.Isaac Black
4.Daniel Black born about 1803 in VA. Married Nancy Ashlock
November 19, 1827, Sangamon Co., IL
5.Hannah Black born about 1817. Married 1st Alvin Finley, November
12, 1835, Macon Co., IL, 2nd Benton Parks July 27, 1841, Macon Co., IL
6.Rachel Black married 1st Samuel Finley, November 21, 1833, Macon
Co., IL. 2nd Hugh McCalley August 9, 1837, Macon Co., IL
If anyone out there can help me out with this family, I would appreciate
it. I am more than willing to share any information I have. Thank you.
Karna
