Hi, My BLACKs are from Butler Co., Alabama. My gf was one of the Hugh Blacks there. I have info on a Hugh Black from SC who was in Butler County by 1840. On the 1850 census, he has a wife named Sarah and sons named Elijah (b. 1827) and Charles (b. 1829). I have Charles's name as Charles Franklin or Charles Frank. Elijah died during the Civil War. I believe we might be talking about the same people. Hope to hear from you. Cheryll
