Please help me sort out this family. James Black b. abt 1797 in Ireland, son of Archibald and Peggy Black married Susan Graham according to the family trees I find. They are listed as having ten children. I recently received a copy of a page from the St. Mary's Church in Crown, Pa centennial booklet that shows a picture of Mr. and Mrs. James Black. Both appear to be well into their 60's. A brief discussion of the children is presented with no mention of a re-marriage. However the 1850 and 1860 Clarion county censuses, both list the name Margaret next after James' name. When he is listed as 63, she is listed as 60. The youngest 4 children were still living at home in 1860. I find in the family search files a marriage of James Black to a Margaret Burchfield in 1836 which coincides with the ages of the youngest four children. Does anyone know if this is coincidence? Did James marry twice. If so was one wife Susan Graham and the second Margaret Burchfield? Was Susan's!
name Susan Margaret or Margaret Susan? Who is the woman in the picture? I know that he had a sister named Margaret but she was about 11 years younger than him and she was married by 1850. Thanks for any direction you can give me.
