Hi, I think there must have been more than one core family in AL and Ga with the Black Surname. We have a Davis as well but he was born long after your David Try to go back to the 1790 SC censuses and see if David is a name that shows up there It most likely could be a cousin to my 6x and 7x grandfathers. There were several Blacks listed in that census in York Co. Good luck!
