Hi, I've been reading your posts with much interest. I'm trying to find the parents of David Black b. 1782, married Sarah?, lived in Pickens, SC then to Mt. Yonah, Habersham Co., GA until their deaths. Their son Samuel Sidney is my husband's gggrandfather. We have a letter written by David to Samuel Sidney dated 1851. In this letter, David names all his children and a couple of people we don't know the relation to.
One is a John Black working in the gold mines, possibly a brother to David? Another is Calley Fargis working in the mines. One of Samuel Sidney's children, Mark David Black b. 3/20/1850 moved from the SS Black homestead in Maury Co., TN to Petrolia, Clay Co., TX.
Have any of you crossed paths with this line of Blacks?
