I am also trying to find a John Black. I do not know where he comes from or where he went. I know, from son, William's marriage certificate John's wife was an Elizabeth Dorman. Son William was born in Kansas on October 31, 1871. Another son, George, was born at Ft. Scott, Kansas on February 28, 1875. There were also 2 girls in the family but I don't know where they were born or when. Their names are Etta May Black and Dora Black. The date of 1847/8 would be about when I thought John was born as his son was born in 1871. Any help in appreciated.
