Amy, I read your query with interest because my cousin, Patricia Shepherd's mother's maiden name was Black. Huntington's Chorea runs in her family, too. They lived in Oklahoma. Her grandmother, Carmen Black Brison, died with it and her mother, Suda Bell, died with it. I believe that Carmen Black had a brother that died with it. I remember that my aunt begged her husband that should she ever develop Huntington's to please never ever let her be put into an institution like her mother. Patricia has a brother and a sister with Huntingtons. I am curious if your Blacks tie in with her Blacks in some way. I believe Carmen Black lived in Maud, Oklahoma at the time she married. She got married in Ft. Smith, AR at 17. Suda Bell got married in Nov. 1946, so I guess she was born about 1929ish, so I imagine Carmen Black was born in the early 1900's and even perhaps a little before that. Roger Black, the man you responded to on this board said he had never heard of a Carmen Bla!
ck but that he would keep his eyes open for that name.
