John Black b 1775 in Edinburgh, Kirk parish, Scotland,
came here as a youth. He went into business with John Blair in
Charles and Newberry, South Carolina operating a store.
John Blair died and John Black married his widow, Mrs. Sarah
Conway Ewell Blair on 12 Nov 1807 in Camden SC. Sarah
was born 14 Oct 1784 in Levelfields, Prince Wm Co. VA.
John and Sarah had 7 children:
Harriet Malvina, Elizabeth Jannetta who married John S. Henderson,
Trenmore or Traymore Fingal, Richard Oscar, Agatha Louise,
William Ewell and John Blair.
Does anyone know who John Black's parents are? It is said he
was a store owner or linen merchant.
