Hello,
Is anyone working on the BLACK or HAINES families who lived in Champaign
Co OH and later moved to Henry Co IA about 1835-40?
Samuel BLACK (1775-1846) & Elizabeth STRICKER (1779-1835)
Their Children:
....Peter BLACK (1796-1869) m. Maria Ann HILLIARD
....Barbara (1797?-1861) m. Samuel HAINES
....Daniel (1801?-1878) m. Elizabeth HAINES
....Mary (1805?-1862) m. Job(e) HAINES
....Samuel (1808-1865) m. Mary ADAMSON
....William
....Abraham (1815-1875) m. Susan MALLORY
....Dellila (1817?- bef 1846) m. Henry B. CROWDER
....Susannah (1822-1850) m. William GLENDENING
....John
Elizabeth HAINES and Job(e) HAINES were children of Jonathan HAINES
(1744-1834) and Sarah SHARP.
We haven't been able to determine who Samuel HAINES's parents were,
although we are sure he is related to Job & Elizabeth. The HAINESes were
descendants of the Quaker, Richard HAINES (1637?-1682), whose family
settled in Burlington, NJ in 1682.
