I do not know who Joseph Black's parents are. Hopefully someone else on the
list knows.

I can add one piece of information. Agigail McClung's parents were William
McClung and Abigail Carpenter. Her mother died when she was very young and
she went to live with her grandparents, Adam Dickinson [Dickerson, Dickson,
etc] and Catherine Stephenson of Cowpasture, Bath County, Va. She always
used there name and may have even used it on her marriage license. Her
biological parents were Joseph Carpenter and Abigail Dickinson. Joseph was
born in Musketa Cove, Long Island, NY in 1723 and died in Botetourt Co, VA
in 1792.
