I am looking for information on my Black family. My first Black closest to
my generation is Sophrona S. [Sophie] Black born about 1820. I don't know
for sure where she was born. Sophrona was married twice, first to Simeon
Abney who must have been related to Sophrona's mother, Elizabeth Abney
Black. Sophrona's second husband was John William Jones, who I am descended
from. I have Peter Black, Sophrona's father being born in 1791. I don't know
where he was born for sure. He was married to Elizabeth Abney and Peter died
in Calhoun Co. Alabama on Aug. 18, 1865. I would like to know more about him
and his family. I have heard that his parents were James Black, born in Va.
and Mary [Mollie]. I would appreciate any help that anymore could give me on
this family.
