William Black, b. 5 Aug 1805 in Greenbrier Co., m. Rebecca Benson on 19 Feb 1833, Levi P. Miller officiating. William d. 2 Feb 1865. William was the son of Joseph Black, b. ca. 1780?, who m. Abigail McClung on 2 Nov 1804 in Greenbrier Co. Abigail was the dau. of Wm. McClung and Abigail Dickson. They had another son Samuel, who was a well-known

Rebecca was born ca. 1807 in Greenbrier Co. She was probably the daughter of John Benson and Ann Craig. Her grandparents were Levin
Benson and Jane Hickman. Levin served in the Revolutionary War. . Levin was born in 1755 in Augusta, VA and died 14 Nov 1835 in Greenbrier Co. Jane was the dau. of John and Nancy HIckman. She was born in 1763 and d. aft 1844 in Knox, IN. Levin's son John was b.
ca. 1785 in Augusta, m. 26 Oct 1806 in Greenbrier. Ann Craig was b.
1784 in Greenbrier, the dau. of William and Nancy Craig.
My husband was descended from William Black's son Samuel Robert
