ELI BLACK -- Eli Black, aged 86, a veteran of the Civil war and a highly respected resident of West Sunbury, died at 8:30 Saturday night, following a period of declining health, due to his advanced age. He was a life long resident of the northern section of the county, a member of the Presbyterian church and held in highest steem [sic] by all who knew him. He was a tailor by trade, following that occupation for many years at West Sunbury. He is survived by his wife, Jane Graham Black and one daughter.

The funeral will take place Tuesday at 1:30 from the Presbyterian church, West Sunbury. Rev. C.B. Bradshaw will have charge of the services.
