Long Illness is Fatal to C.A. Black

Charles A. Black, age 75, of Unity, died Friday morning, July 8 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Herbert Harroff, after a long illness.

He was born July 19, 1873 in Virginia, a son of Mr. & Mrs. John Black. He was married to Martha McCoy in 1989 who survives him in the home. The deceased was a mill worker by occupation and was a member of the United Presbyterian Church.

Besides his widow, Martha, he is survived by eight children, four daughters; Mrs. Olive McCoy of Signal, Mrs. Fred Stahl of Cleveland, Mrs. Herbert Harroff of New Waterford, and Mrs. Helen Jugan of Columbiana; four sons, John Black of New Waterford, Denver Black and Clarence Black of Unity, and Joseph Black of Norfolk, Va. Thirty six grandchildren, four great grandchildren; three brothers, Joseph Black of Unity, Thomas M. Black of Cannelton, Pa; John C. Black of Ashtabula; four sisters, Mrs. Irene Murphy of Beaver Falls, Pa; Mrs. Stella Mackall of East Liverpool, Mrs. Helen Ryan of Burgettstown, Pa., Mrs. Harriett Mackall of Georgretown, Pa.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from the Harroff home, New Waterford with Rev. Ashmus, Pastor of East Palestine Methodist church officiating. Interment was made in New Waterford Cemetery. Warrick Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
