Bob: Thanks for the information. About all I have on my John Black is a birth date of around 1835 in Ireland. So we have a possibility here but it will be tough to make a link. Do you have any info on when your John Black came to the US? Or anything else on him. Mine probably came in the late 1840's or possibly early 1850's and ended up in Brooklyn. And that is about all I have. Also, he apparently died in the mid-1870's in Manhattan, but I have not been able to locate a death record. And, Of course, he married Lena van Bell about 1855/56. Anything additional you have that may lead to a link would be appreciated.
