My 3rd great grandfather was Thomas BLACK, b.16 Sep 1816 in York Co,SC. He married in Fairfield Co?,SC to Nancy GLADNEY and had 2 daus., *Mary E. and Sarah Jane. They were in Fairfield Co, SC on the 1850 census and by 1860 census they were in Drew Co, AR. I have been trying to prove or disprove John C. BLACK and Elizabeth "Betsy" SMITH? as his parents as they were in York Co and are suppose to have had a son, Thomas, b.c1817 SC who later moved to AR. In John C.'s line, the name Robert is carried down several times. Can you help me here? I will gladly share any information I have.
