Thanks, Jim. I have found out a lot of information from one of my shirt-tail cousins from Lamont,MS since I wrote this. We are descendants of Thomas Black(born 1744,died 1811, from from York Co,. SC, as well as the William L. Smith, b,1822 in Wilkinson Co.,MS,d, 1890, Madison Co.,MS, and Joseph Slocumb,b.1772 in Duplin Co.,NC, and the Pipkin family through his wife Sarah Pipkin b. 1773 in Duplin County, NC, as well as Sadlers from Nancy Sadler, b. 1774, York Co. Through Marr. to James Black,b. 1775, York Co.SC. The Cain family through marr. of Pliny Sadler Black, b.1802, York Co. SC, to Sarah Dorcas Cain, b.1811,d.1839, Madison County,MS, and The Odom family through the marr. of Herman Cain Black,b. 1830, Madison Co.MS, d. in Confed. firld hospital, Barnwell,GA 1864, to Mary Albany Odom, b. 18323, Barnwell Co,.SC, the Smith family through the marr. of daughter Flora Isabelle Smith, b.1855, Madison Co., d.1930, Humphreys Co., MS, to James Pliny Black,b. 1854, d.1936, Hum!
