Hello Jeanette. Although your names do not look familiar, the fact that you said that you believe that she, a Black is Cherokee is a common thread in my family is. I have heard this before. So, it appears that the Black suname runs in the Cherokee circles also. So, I'd do research on the Cherokee Nation as well. Do you know where the Blacks came from... which state? This can give a clue to what band of the Tsalagi that she/they may have come from. I hope that this helps some.
