Hi!

I am a ggg granddaughter of your Frances Black. I descend from her daughter Mary Jane Brown who married Nathan Bowen. This family is from my maternal grandmother's mother's side. My grandmother had always told me about her father's side of the family being indian, but only one time did she mention any native connection to the Bowen's. About 14 years ago I was interviewing my grandmother for the purpose of filling out a family chart. Looking back all of these years later I see where I made a note about their being indian in this branch. Nobody else in the family knows anything. Considering that my grandmother knew her grandparetns and great grandparents names when her own sisters didn't, I'll bet she is also correct on the indian lineage story.

My grandmother has since passed on, and although I interviewed her all of those years ago, I have only just begun researching my family. If it is not too much trouble I would be very interested in infromation concerning the other children of James Robert Brown and Frances Black and the parentage of James and Frances.

Did you see the posting about a Greenberry Black from MO who is supposed to be Blackfoot???
