Could the Mary born abt 1866 to Don Fernando Black be your ancestor?
(see 1870 Bienville Par. Census below)

Does anyone know John R. Black? He was born Mar.16, 1814 in NC, died Dec.
11 1898 in Bienville Par, LA. Was married 1st to possibly Caroline
Willingham. (Have never found marriage record). They had the following
children:
1) Don Fernando Black b.8/4/1834
2) James Black - abt 1839
3) Sarah Black - abt 1943
4) Allison W.(Allen) Black - April 6, 1846
5) Mary E. Black - abt 1848

He married 2nd to Jane Gore Feb. 19, 1854 & 3rd to Elizabeth Melton Weir
(or Ware) 1/4/1869- Elizabeth had the following children:

6) William W. Black abt 1869
7) J. R. Black 9/171873
